This policy describes how Bex ("we," "us," "the app") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Bex iOS app or the getbex.app website.
When you create an account, we collect your email address for authentication. When you use the app, we store the inventory data you create — rooms, bins, items, photos, tags, purchase info, and any notes — so it can be synced across your devices and shared with members of your household.
We do not collect location data, contacts, or any information you haven't explicitly entered into the app.
Bex uses AI services (currently Anthropic Claude) to help identify items from photos and generate descriptions. When you opt into an AI feature, the relevant data (a photo, an item name, etc.) is sent to the AI provider for processing. Those providers are bound by their own privacy policies and do not retain your data for training purposes. You can disable AI features at any time.
We share data only with the service providers required to operate the app:
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers.
Your inventory data persists until you delete it. You can delete individual items, bins, rooms, or your entire account at any time from within the app. Account deletion removes all associated data permanently.
Bex uses your camera (to photograph items and scan QR/barcodes) and photo library (to import item photos) only when you explicitly choose to. Photos are stored alongside your inventory data; location metadata is stripped before upload.
You can export or delete your data at any time via Settings in the app. To request data in another form, contact hi@unbusy.studio.
Bex is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app and reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
